Hardware Requirements

Single or Client Computers

The following hardware specifications are recommended if you are using DaySmart Pet on one computer in your business. Follow these specifications for the Solo, Standard, and Professional editions of DaySmart Pet. For adequate performance to run the software, please follow at least the minimum hardware specifications. For optimal performance, please follow at least the recommended hardware specifications.

Server Computer in Network

The following server specifications are for the server computer holding your database. You will have a server computer if you are using the Multi-Computer or Multi-Location edition of DaySmart Pet software. For all other computers in the network, follow specifications for “Single or Client Computers.”

Multiple Locations

When running DaySmart Pet from multiple locations, each location will have a server and one or more client computers on the local network. All locations must be connected to the Internet, and be using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to share files and information between the locations.

For each location, follow the specifications listed under “Server Computer” for the computer holding the database (one per location), and the rest of the computers at each location (clients) should follow the specifications listed under “Single or Client Computer.” However, when using DaySmart Pet at multiple locations, you must have a full-time Internet connection at each location.
